I’m a native Rochesterian, but only in the last several years have my family and I moved back here, after living in NYC and Los Angeles. I can truly say there is no place like home! We love Rochester for all it has to offer: arts, music, food, hiking, even a snowy day or two. MY family includes my wonderful husband and my two college age sons. I have a BFA from Rhode Island School of Design and spent many years working professionally as an animator. Over the years, I branched out into teaching art to kids in an education setting, and recently I received my Childcare Associate Degree. I often teach art through Brighton Parks and Recreation (right here at Brookside). I’m excited to be part of the Montessori School of Rochester and hope to continue to share my love of art and learning with the happy children here.
I moved from Manchester, New Hampshire to the Rochester area to be closer to family. I have been working with children for over 5 years. I began as an assistant in self-contained classroom with preschoolers who had autism. My last year before moving to New York, I was the head teacher for a self-contained Kindergarten Autism classroom. When I first moved to New York State, I was blessed to work at a daycare center working as the toddler and then per-school teacher. On my time off, I like to dance, sing, paint and play with my 7-year-old puggle Mason.
Hi! I’m so glad to be part of the MSR team. It’s funny to end back up in this neighborhood after a long time away. I lived here in Evan’s Farm growing up with my family until fourth grade. After graduating from BHS, I went to college and lived in Vermont for 8 years. I received Bachelors degree in Elementary Education and a license to teach K-6. I’ve worked in a variety of educational settings including special education and outdoor education. I love to be outside, play music, hang out with friends and play fetch with Thomas, my dog.
I was thrilled to begin working with the MSR Community in March 2019 as the Physical Education Teacher. In addition, I also had the opportunity to work in Summer Camp for Children’s House and Toddler. For this upcoming 2020 school year I look forward to participating in the Toddler Day House Program! I graduated from Le Moyne College with a B.S. in Sociology concentrated in Criminology. After graduating, I attended SUNY Oswego and received a Master’s in Community Mental Health Counseling with a focus in Play Therapy. When I am not working I spend time with my family, play sports with my nephew, and attend NCAA and NBA basketball games with my husband.
